Tiny Wedding Reception

Since when I got married, some 38 years ago, we had a grand total of 8 people there, I completely understand and appreciate couples who decide to get married and celebrate in a more intimate style.

Here are some photos I snapped of the Skylark Room that was set up for a tiny wedding earlier in the month.  I hope you enjoy seeing what a friend of the couple did to decorate the room and make everything special for this lucky couple.

Now you know, if you did not know before, that we welcome weddings of any size, from 2 to 190, here at the Hawthorne Hotel, and we can handle even larger weddings at the Peabody Essex Museum.  So if we can assist you in planning your special day, give us a call at 978-825-4358.

I hope to see you here.

Lovely Little Wedding

Lovely rich fall colors in the floral arrangements, and linen colors really complimented the decor of Nathaniel's and Sophia's Rooms which were the site of a lovely little wedding a few weekends ago.  These photos were taken by our evening manager, Elizabeth Buchanan, and we are very grateful for her taking so many so that you can see a number of aspects of this special space.

The three photos at the end of this post, of the cocktail luge, were taken by professional photographers from a wonderful local photography studio (here is a link to their site: Lightshed Photo) so be sure to scroll all the way down to the end to see those.

The following photos are of the cool "ice luge" that was part of this wedding.  It featured two chutes so that the wedding couple could offer their guests two different specialty drinks.  These three following photos are courtesy of "Lightshed.com" photography here in Salem.

Bartender Lee White is making it happen for a guest to enjoy a "luged" specialty cocktail.

I hope we can assist you in planning your wedding, whether it is large or small, or someplace in between.

Garden-Themed Wedding in Our Grand Ballroom Overlooking Salem's Largest "Garden", the Salem Common

Last month we were privileged to host a lovely wedding that carried a "Garden" theme to it. There was an extensive use of herbs and living plants to create a particular atmosphere. I hope you enjoy these photos.

It was interesting that they chose to orient the ceremony in this way, as it is the opposite of what we usually do.  I think it is charming.

Beautiful wedding cake with very delicate and different decorations.

Special thanks to our evening manager, Elizabeth Buchanan, who helped me photograph this event.

I hope to see you here.

One of Our Own Gets Married

It is not often that one of our own team members gets married, and so when it does happen we want to make certain that they receive all of the "special-ness" that we can shower upon them.  That was the case this past Friday night, when a member of our Building Operations/Maintenance Team, Barry Eliuk, married his sweetheart, Gabby Haley.

We decided to create a keepsake of their special day by having our team members sign the matting of a picture frame.  Then I intruded on their professional photographer's picture taking and snapped a photo for this blog post, and printed it and put it in the frame to be delivered to their room when we sent up sparkling wine and wedding cake for them to enjoy after their wedding reception.

Here are some photos:

I hope you enjoy seeing us celebrate Barry and Gabby's special day.
