Another Wedding Filled with Unique Touches

On December 4 a lovely couple celebrated their wedding with a nice reception in our Grand Ballroom. Britt Erler and Greg Tartaglia had such a lovely story to share, we thought you would want to hear it on our Hawthorne Hotel Wedding Blog.

This winter wedding utilized a lovely touch, both practical and a bit romantic at the same time. Each chair that was intended for a female guest had a red pashmina scarf placed over the back. These cards let each person know the reason for the scarf, and encouraged the guests to bask in another kind of warmth from the happy couple.

Greg wins our award for most romantic proposal of 2009 (at least it is the most romantic that we heard about!) He went to pick up Britt to go out for the evening. However, the evening's destination, unbeknownst to Britt, was the airport. (Thoughtful Greg had enlisted the help of Britt's sister to pack a bag for her and Greg had it hidden in the car.)

When they got to the airport, Britt thought he might be taking her to New York, but Greg had grander plans in mind. Their destination was Paris. When they arrived, he took her to the Eiffel Tower, where he proposed to her! So sweet!!!!
So, many of their wedding touches played up on this wonderful romantic proposal. Their cake is decorated with an Eiffel Tower, with them sitting on the cake underneath it. Their table numbers were prints evocative of Paris, with the table numbers written out in French.

We hope that you will let us know about special touches that you plan to incorporate into your wedding reception here at the historic Hawthorne Hotel so we can share on our very special wedding blog.
